I am pleased that Cllr Ann Stribley refers (Have Your Say, 18 June) to the planning permission on the Talbot Village site given in 1995 for 133 residential units, yet to be built, without any protection or mitigation for the heathlands.

The current scheme is, of course, much more extensive than this, and there is great concern that the mitigation measures now offered will be insufficient to overcome its harmful effects.

Apart from that, in the one minute I was allowed “for clarification” by Cllr Stribley at her planning committee meeting, I tried to draw the committee’s attention to the statement in the Poole officer’s report that the planning permission for 84 of the 133 units referred to by Cllr Stribley had lapsed, and that therefore, in my opinion, the planning permission for these units was no longer relevant to the determination of the current application.
