I READ with personal interest the letter concerning the disposal of hospital property following home use.
There appears to be a case of logistical mismanagement here, for we recently experienced first class service.
For the final weeks of my wife’s life we opted for home care rather than hospital. By 9am on the day following our decision, a remote controlled hospital bed, a commode and other items had been delivered and installed. NHS and Macmillan care was always to hand when needed.
My wife passed away in January.
By 9am on the following day, all items had been dismounted and removed in the course of a few minutes.
We had nothing but gratitude for the system, which apparently has two disparate heads.
