MUCH negative comment is read about our NHS. More should be published about the vast majority of excellent service the NHS performs on behalf of us all.
Much praise is due to the thousands of staff, at all levels, who man this gigantic organisation every minute of every day and night.
Last December, late at night, I collapsed with a ruptured aortic artery aneurysm, often fatal.
Within minutes the paramedics rushed me to Bournemouth Hospital, where I was quickly assessed, and another team of paramedics drove me at high speed to Salisbury Hospital, in icy, dangerous conditions. Full marks to them.
Upon arrival, surgeon Mr Ranapoldo and his wonderful team performed a life saving operation on me. This was followed by one to one intensive care for some days, then brilliant after care nursing.
My overall experience was that the NHS was superb, and I could not imagine receiving better treatment anywhere else.
