I AM writing to ask your readers to support Diabetes UK during this year’s Diabetes Week (June 12-18) by holding a Big Diabetes Week Quiz.
Diabetes is a serious condition and there are now 224,413 people diagnosed with the condition across the South West.
Learning to live with the diagnosis can be challenging and it’s vital that people receive the emotional support they need to effectively manage their condition.
That’s why this year during Diabetes Week, Diabetes UK is raising awareness of the importance of talking about diabetes.
It is also aiming to raise £200,000 to expand its Careline – a vital service which provides practical information and emotional support to anyone affected by diabetes.
You can help Diabetes UK reach this target by holding a Big Diabetes Week Quiz at your workplace, local school, pub, community centre or anywhere else you can think of.
It’s the perfect way to get all your friends, family, school friends or colleagues together to raise awareness of diabetes.
To find out more visit diabetes.org.uk/diabetes week, call 020 7424 1000 or email DiabetesWeek@diabetes.org.uk.
