IS there any wonder that people cannot be bothered to vote? On Thursday, I fulfilled my duty and voted in the local elections.
At the Polling Station I was presented with a ballot paper containing eight names and was invited to vote for no more than six.
As a local constituent, I have not heard from any of these candidates, apart from one, who put a leaflet through my letterbox.
I voted for that person who had taken the trouble to give me some information. The other seven have not bothered. As a result I could not be bothered to vote for them.
It is high time that people who wish to serve the community told us who they are, what they stand for and what their objectives are if elected.
