LIKE many people I was appalled to learn of the graffiti attack on Christchurch’s historic Norman House or Constable's Hall as some refer to it (‘An attack on history’, Daily Echo, May 9).
Unfortunately this sort of thing is becoming all too common – thanks largely to the ‘great and good’ of the art world who legitimise graffiti by referring to it as “street art” and lionising people such as Banksy.
Graffiti is nothing but vandalism and those who indulge in it are mindless, antisocial yobs with no respect for anything.
Let’s hope the authorities can identify the perpetrator of this latest outrage from his “signature” and ensure that he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
