YOUR recent correspondent Derek Smith complains of the problems he had attending his local polling station.
Given that the distance between his road and the station is less than a mile, perhaps he should have considered walking?
This would have left the limited car access and parking available for those who really needed it.
A great deal of the congestion we face on our roads is from journeys of less than three miles, yet most of these are taken by car. Current national and local transport policies are doing nothing to discourage it.
I would suggest Mr Smith took his bike, but I was extremely disappointed to find my own polling station (Holly Tree Pub, Moordown) had no provision for cycle parking!
