WHY more of the same? Millions of pounds of council taxpayers’ money wasted on the repurchase of the Imax building, on a useless Boscombe surf reef, the refurbishment of the beach pods and probably destroying more of what in my mind should be open space, with Trevor Osborne’s cinema complex next to the Pavilion.
And yet Bournemouth voters have clearly said ‘more please’.
Same here within the New Forest. Ten of thousands of pounds wasted on scrapping car-parking charges, only for them to be reintroduced. Hundreds of thousands of pounds on a court case over slippery floors within a leisure centre, lost, and they were warned that would be the likely outcome. Local voters have said ‘more please’.
The public used to complain about the dominance of the two main political parties, but as we have seen, they have decided on ‘more please’.
Now watch all the cut-backs kick into play, redundancies, council tax will no doubt go up next year, and so on.
Somewhere, a long the line MP’s salaries will increase. As will council leaders’.
To all those people who did not vote Conservative join together and create a proper strong opposition.
RICHARD GRANT, Bisterne Close, Burley
