AS THE summer approaches, Echo readers will be preparing to go on holiday.
As a charity for people with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust (IDDT) knows that going on holiday requires more organisation and is not quite as straight forward for people with diabetes.
For people going abroad the added security that is now present in airports and on flights means that carrying injection devices and insulin on planes has become more complicated.
IDDT can provide free information about travelling and holidays to help both children and adults with diabetes.
The Holiday Information Pack provides tips on how to transport insulin and injection devices to other countries, how to look after insulin once you are there and tips on holiday insurance.
The information is clear, up to date and will include our Hospital Passport for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes which provides information about medications, meals and how people manage their diabetes, so that your readers with diabetes will have a record with them.
We are happy to send out this free information to your readers and they can contact IDDT on 01604 622837, email enquiries@iddtinternational.org or in writing to IDDT, PO Box 294, Northampton, NN1 4XS.
