RE the ‘Luddites’ comment regarding the European Union. Those against European Union are living in the 17th century not the 20th century.

They are just tiny little Englanders living for their thoughts in a very distant past.

Wake Up. Do they not realise the world now is one of big blocks? China, India, Brazil, African Federation, Russia, USA and we, as a very small country on our own, would stand very little chance economically of surviving.

Europe must become one very big federation where its Euro currency is top of the shop to counteract all the other currencies. This is long overdue. European legislators must quickly make sure that countries such as Ireland, Greece, Portugal etc are ‘as one’ economically.

An organisation should police all financial activities and should be as one in a very unified economic situation. That would help to make a very strong unified currency to assert its place in the world economic situation.

Eventually these blocks of countries etc will come together into a world democratic federation where a word financial authority would police the prices of food, oil, gas and all other essentials for the human race to live in peace, harmony and hunger/strife to be banished forever. Especially for the poor.

This has always been my ideal - where all these greedy speculators out to get rich and cause immense poverty in the human race will be stopped forever.
