CLAIMS that defending against an application for a town and village green means that you don’t care about public open space are plain wrong and a clear example of why Lib-Dem management and thinking left Poole Park and public open space generally in such a poor shape in 2003.
I am proud of the state I restored it to and where it was largely left, when I stepped down this May.
The fact is that defending public open space for all against the demands of the few who live near it is absolute proof that you do care about public open space and the rights of all the people who use it. Once you come to that conclusion you recognise the need to oppose TVG application on public open space. For example Branksome Rec still does not have its green gym equipment because of it.
This Lib-Dem campaign is however costing the people of Poole dearly. Over £67,000 can be laid at their door to date, with it very likely to double, regardless of any council objection, once the Whitecliff application is dealt with. That is a true waste of money.
