NO doubt motorists will have noticed the number of ‘Caught No Excuse’ signs on Dorset roads.
Perhaps a few could be given to the Houses of Parliament so that we can be spared some of the excuses from members such as David Laws, the Member of Parliament for Yeovil who said in mitigation when caught fiddling his expenses and claiming thousands of pounds that he was only trying to protect his sexuality.
This must rank alongside some of the unusual excuses given to Dorset Police when they have stopped drivers for motoring offences.
The big difference being that as the signs say ‘CAUGHT NO EXCUSE’ for drivers in Dorset but no doubt Mr Laws excuse will be sufficient to prevent him from being prosecuted for fraud.
