VISITING Parkstone Park today, I was looking forward to seeing the results of £360,000 developer’s contributions and months and months of work.
Sadly, I was very disappointed. I spoke to a number of people who thought similarly. There is not really a play area, supposedly it’s a play trail, but I did not see any signs showing how to use it?
The new fountain did seem a great improvement, but the water was filled with tree and other composting debris.
This will obviously continue and be worse in the autumn, so I am not sure the money spent is a good investment for the future in this location. The petanque pitches are rarely used and don’t look particularly attractive with that horrible wooden fencing.
Considering the amount of time the work has taken, it looked worse than before, but is it finished? I hope not.
There are very many bare patches of ground with no grass seed or turf, the once colourful flower beds are no more, the rose bed was covered in weeds. The time and money seems to be have spent on resin bound paths, not a real community improvement. What do you think?
