MANY motorists must have had to tolerate the new army of ‘above the law brigade’ – young teenagers and school kids who blatantly think its their right to just walk across the pedestrian crossings when the sign tells them ‘don’t walk’.
They just amble across, obviously to get a reaction from the drivers, just to ‘lighten their day’ and make them feel big in front of their friends.
It happened yet again today, three schoolgirls, crossing at the pedestrian crossing in Newfoundland Road, near Sainsbury’s, our car was literally 10 feet away when they walked out.
They loved it when after getting the long toot of the horn they could mouth the usual obscenities.
These same girls will be mothers themselves someday – God help us! And the children who will be taught no road safety, as well as respect.
