WITH regard to the situation of Mr Borthwick crossing the floor to the Tories in a matter of hours, I have received many phone calls from residents asking what they can now do to bring about the stepping down of this man from the council.
Cllr Ron Whittaker and I have said to residents write to the Prime Minister, as he promised to clean up local and national politics. Well let’s see if he will help us here in Throop and Muscliff.
Mr Borthwick was not elected as a Tory candidate so has no mandate to represent the residents. I actually proposed him on his nomination form as did other residents of the ward. They are very angry about his betrayal and question why the Tory administration in this town have taken him in.
Our local MP Tobias Ellwood I know isn’t happy about this and I call on him too to speak to the Prime Minister.
