I KEEP reading about dogs being attacked when off lead but I had an awful experience on Friday whilst walking my five-year-old black labrador.
We were having a lovely walk but as we turned in to Kingswell Road, Ensbury Park, two men with Alasatian type dogs came face to face with us.
You could see the Alsatian wanted to attack. As his owner tried to control him, he slipped his lead, came charging across the road and attacked my dog. It was the most frightening time of my life and something most dog owners dread. I felt so helpless with this dog locked on to my dog.
I am still having trouble sleeping as it keeps on playing over and over in my mind. I would like to thank all the people who came to my aid that afternoon, especially the kind lady who took me to the vets after we managed to get the Alsatian off.
Unfortunately as I had to the vets I did not get the owner’s name.
Saska will be okay thank goodness but has a nasty wound at the top of her leg. She will be on antibiotics for a week.
Dogs like this should be muzzled to stop it happening again. It has now made me very nervous to walk my dog round the roads now.
