I AM tired of hearing about people stereotyping young people and teenagers.
I am a 13-year-old boy, and over the last few weeks I have read numerous letters about teenagers vandalising people’s property and being generally unpleasant.
A letter in the Echo last week stated ‘this pretty much sums up the younger generation’.
Contrary to popular belief, we don’t just think about vandalising vehicles because no one is around.
I myself have been stereotyped, ending with me not being allowed to walk down the road to my own house.
I’m not saying that all teenagers are nice and pleasant; some people my age do smoke and drink and vandalise others’ property.
However, there are a large majority of young people who are intelligent and nice to have around.
For example, a group of people at my school, including myself, have been attending after-school music lessons; we are playing in a music competition in Bournemouth, and we enjoy it more than loitering and being offensive to other people.
Please stop stereotyping us.
