I FEEL that Andy Hanley may not be very well informed (No Faith in Street Healers – June 14). There have been several instances of people being healed by faith, (as there were in Bible times).
I once had a work colleague whose husband was cured of cancer (the tumours disappearing completely before treatment) as the result of God’s power being sought by collective earnest prayer.
There have been many cases where healing has occurred with all manner of ailments that the medical profession cannot explain. (Of course, it has to be admitted that not all so-called faith healers are genuine and that has always been so).
The Bible examples make it clear that prayer is the plea – faith is the power; but, of course, the outcome is always subject to God's will. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, or not yet but the believer understands (although often with our finite minds, with some difficulty) that the Almighty Creator always knows what is best and never makes mistakes.
The problem Andy Hanley may have with faith could be, perhaps, that he doesn’t have any.
