I DO not wish to denigrate the excellent aims of this event and the charity, or the people who take part and raise funds.
But maybe next year the organisers locally could choose a date other than Fathers' Day. Race For Life is heavily focused on the effect of cancer on women and permits only women to take part, so why does the event have to be held, as it has for the last three years in Bournemouth, on the only day of the year set aside to honour dads?
Fathers’ Day is always the third Sunday in June, so surely it is not difficult to plan around this date?
