I AM researching Grace Rebecca Munro. I have a postcard addressed to Sister Munro, D Section, SAMC, Mont Dore Military Hospital, Bournemouth.
It is from a Sgt Henry J Head thanking Sister Munro for her kind attention.
The postcard is dated 4.6.16 and posted from Newbridge in Ireland.
I understand SAMC stands for South African Military Corp, who took over Mont Dore in Dec/Jan 1916. I would be most appreciative of any leads as to where I can find information on the South African term at this hospital; also photographs of the hospital and staff of this period.
I can be contacted at the address below or at hind@wave.co.nz
