GAS roadworks on Blandford Road/Gwenlyn Road, Upton, Poole: For as long as I can remember we’ve had occasional fiddling by Southern Gas Networks at the above junction.
One-way traffic lights, cones and barriers were installed but there are no signs of any progress as the entire area is brought to a standstill morning, evening and during the day.
It’s just started again and Upton is in gridlock. What on earth is going on here? For goodness sake, rip the old pipe out and put a new one in and do it quickly.
This constant fiddling at the expense of all those trying to get through this critical pinchpoint to and from Hamworthy cannot possibly be the most cost-effective solution for the network, let alone the suffering of everyone else.
Please can you inform me of the problem that Southern Gas Networks is trying to solve here and the plan to resolve it.
IAN BELCHAMBER, Gwenlyn Road, Poole
