THE Oxbridge types in Whitehall are keen to spend £36 billion on the HS2 superfast railway from London to the North.
They have no plans for a dual carriageway from Poole to Honiton, or from Ringwood to Salisbury.
Poole to Exeter is an important national route. Even the A303 is not all dualled yet. Single track A roads are much more dangerous.
A cheaper option is to complete the northern link round Dorchester and improve the road to Crewkerne, Chard and Honiton.
It is only 4 miles longer than the A35 via Bridport.
