LAST Friday, I was returning to my car in Seldown Road car park park when I tripped on some loose gravel, hitting my head, rendering myself unconscious.
When I opened my eyes I saw a lady in a pink floral skirt watching over me, I assumed awaiting the paramedics, who were very kind and efficient as they transported me to Poole Hospital’s A&E.
All the staff I encountered were very skilful and professional as they tended my injuries and arranged for me to stay overnight. On Saturday, as the doctor checked my wrist, he advised me not to drive. I became anxious as my car, bought two days ago, was still in the car park.
Fortunately the lady in the next bed (who had meningitis) overheard this and offered to telephone her father who could transport me and the car back to West Moors with the help of his wife. I cannot express how grateful I am for all the care and concern I received in every instance of these events over the last two days, especially the lady in the pink floral skirt, Kirsty and ‘Car Care’.
I am now recovering at home. I only hope this sends out a reassuring message to all who feel anxious in the vicinity of Poole town centre.
