I HAVE just learnt that the council will be moving the volleyball courts on Boscombe seafront further west so they will be next to the pier. Quite frankly this is absurd.

I am a keen beach user and often am at the seafront watching and playing this game.

I think the courts currently are situated in a perfect place as they are next to the changing and shower facilities and away from the most popular spot – next to the pier.

I would like to know the reasoning behind this decision but feel that it will have come about as possibly one resident from the new flats has complained about the noise. The noise is on a public beach and is in no way excessive.

I do not feel that using up prime beach space by the pier and in front of the topless thugs with Staffordshire bull terriers is any way to enjoy this growing sport.
