I NOTE that a certain Mr Tipton has featured a few times in the letters page of late having appeared from nowhere (“Dogs only suitable for countryside”, Letters, July 11).

Everyone is entitled to their view but I think this gentleman is not someone with whom I would like to be acquainted with or a neighbour of.

I have always loved animals from a distance and four years ago I acquired a small and loving dog just as my mother began suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

This little creature is the most gentle, loving “person” who provides me with companionship and 100 per cent loyalty, always at my side, and indeed has been my mental salvation.

I abhor Mr Tipton’s view as will many others – perhaps he does not realise that most if not all “Beware of the dog” signs are to deter people like Mr Tipton from entering their property. I think I will amend mine to read “Do not dare enter Mr Tipton. Please go back from whence you came.”
