I WAS at the BIC for the Dylan/Knopfler concert. This was a gift to my son for his birthday as he’s a very keen musician.
However, our enjoyment of the show was significantly marred by the behaviour of those around us, particularly a group of very drunk women who talked and texted and generally missed the first part of the show.
In the second half, as their drunkenness worsened, they really annoyed a significant number of people by generally throwing themselves around, crashing into other people, sending drinks flying and causing a real annoyance.
Further discomfort was caused by a heated conversation that occurred behind us between two middle-aged men who seemed to have some dispute over ‘territory’ – the language of the conversation was both aggressive and foul.
I was embarrassed and angry that two grown men couldn’t resolve a minor issue without resorting to a pistols-at-dawn mentality.
Overall then, not a great evening – the show itself was very average, the people around us were pretty horrible, and the price was shocking.
I don't think I’ll bother attending anything else at the BIC!
