HEBREW is an important language of antiquity that Israel, to its credit, has prevented from falling into obscurity.

Those currently speaking Hebrew as their native tongue, however, number relatively few.

The credentials of Hebrew that justify its inclusion among the world’s major languages on the wall of The Russell-Cotes Museum, (Daily Echo, October 11), therefore would appear to rate the same as those qualifying Welsh or Gaelic to feature at the entrance of an Israeli museum.

If included would it not be more appropriate to write it in Hebrew characters?
