AS I walk from my home in Ensbury Park to Winton High Street, there are several places where hedges are overgrown on to the public pathway.
This could be very dangerous for older people with sight problems as they could walk into these bushes and injure themselves and also inconvenient for people pushing small children in pushchairs.
I happen to know that the council used to send out letters to households advising them to trim back overgrown hedges or the council would do it and send the home owners a bill. Is this still the case?
Dare I say it that these properties are probably let out (as a great many properties in this area are) and the landlords are happy to take the rents, but do not want to maintain the properties correctly?
These home owners should be responsible for keeping the hedges trimmed properly.
