I WAS sickened to read Mrs P C White’s letter saying that she and her friends are “relieved and delighted” that the Saxon Roundabout has been vandalised. Please do not include me in your headline: “Residents are happy that sword is gone.”
It does not matter if you love a work of art, or hate it; to destroy another person’s work is the lowest form of criminality. To publicly support and condone this crime is shameful.
We should not leave it as it is; we should stand up to the criminals and those who support them.
I have sent a contribution to Wareham in Bloom towards replacing the sword with one made of the finest armour steel. Anyone who agrees could do likewise.
