I STRONGLY agree with the comments made by Perry Winkle, writing in Daily Echo October 18, about the proposed travellers’ site at Park Road.
It cannot be fair, or even acceptable, that the rights and concerns of the hard working, council tax paying majority be ignored in favour of a minority who contribute nothing and cost the rest of us thousands in policing and clean-up operations.
Surely this is discrimination at its worst and against a far larger number of people?
Apart from the obvious, very detrimental impact on tourism and local residents mentioned in previous letters, the council also needs to bear in mind that the Park Road site is within half a mile of both the Lansdowne and Horseshoe Common, already trouble hotspots.
