I WAS pleased to see the recent article re the dog mess on our streets.

I live on the corner of Hastings Road and Barrow Road and the mess on the pavements around this corner is an absolute disgrace.

From 7am to the evening, it is a fairly continuous dog walking area.

We don’t have a community officer patrolling this area as we are neither Townsend or Littledown – our little area in the middle nobody seems to care about.

I have seen several walkers stop with their dogs along here but if I approach them as I have in the past, I will finish up with mess thrown into our garden as has happened before. As pensioners we cannot confront these walkers. The fear of reprisals is too great.
