I AM delighted that there are still protesters trying to save the Bournemouth Centre for Community Arts from being replaced by housing.
If the councillors wanted more houses they should have ensured that the relative large site of the old Dolphin pub was reserved for housing instead of giving Tesco the opportunity to build a large food store on it which is not needed and further more was not wanted as there were no letters in support.
No sooner did we hear of the Dolphin closing than we heard of the council giving Tesco permission to build a store – indecent haste? Why no discussion about other possibilities?
I hope the supporters of Druit Hall (Christchurch) win their battle too. There is no overriding need to demolish it so let the community enjoy a few more years of meeting there.
