MY friend and I know the shock that Victoria Wilkinson experienced (‘Shoppers fury at £70 charges’, Echo, March 5).
On New Year’s Eve we too had a fine at Turbary Retail Park.
As widows with no parties to attend we went out for the day to cheer us up.
As my friend has a bad hip we wandered slowly round Matalan and spent money, then we partook of lunch in Dunelm and bought many things.
We got in the car and went to The Range and eventually had tea.
Imagine our horror to get a £50 fine (which we shared). My towels were pretty dear after that.
We had no idea of the three-hour limit.
We have now been informed of a four-hour limit at Castlepoint.
Can anyone tell us of any place two old ladies can go without having to curtail our visits?
