me feeling blue I AM unfortunate enough to live in Ringwood Road, opposite Oakmead’s new tent, which is visible every day from most of the rooms in my house.
I am staggered that the planning permission system in this country meant that the first we knew of this eyesore was when the framework was being erected, despite it totally dominating the skyline and the view from here. I’m actually thankful it’s foggy today as it’s invisible.
Aside from the lack of information provided by the planning process (and the lack of courtesy from Oakmead when developing such an ugly structure), I am amazed that it has been passed for construction in blue.
Blue! Not even a natural shade, but a dark blue which makes it even more of an eyesore. At times when the visual impact of new buildings is supposed to be taken into account, this is unbelievable, and compounded by the shiny nature of it, so every evening there’s an even uglier shine from the patchy tarpaulin-like construction of the building.
Whoever approved this no doubt earns many times what I do as a teacher, but they need to go back to school, and learn that dark blue looks horrendous, amongst many other things.
