I WOULD like to write and say how pleased I am to be given the choice of keeping in or opting out of the scheme of the ‘Green Bin’ and to thank you for giving me the chance to air my views on your very popular page.
There is only one thing that I cannot understand.
Cllr Judes Butt (whose title is portfolio holder for public engagement and participation) stated (Echo, March 7) that at the full chargeable rate of £31 per year that equates to just 86p for each collection.
There will be 19 collections in total so how can it only be 86p each. What does the remainder of the money go towards?
Once again thank you for helping me and, according to the figures published, many others, to ‘escape’ from this saga.
