ON February 1, I was one of the year seven Twynham students that were lucky enough to plant 61 trees.

We did this for the Queen’s 60th Jubilee.

You are probably wondering why we planted 61 trees if its the Queen’s 60th Jubilee.

Well, we planted 20 Rowan, 20 Birch and 20 Cherry to commemorate the Queens 60th Jubilee and we planted one Royal Oak to stand for the Queen.

Our project will also help us here at Twynham as these trees are sustainable.

They will breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen.

They will also provide food (the cherry) and shelter.

We have also planted them near the road so that they will inhale the bad gases and exhale oxygen which we need.

This isn’t the only thing we’ve done here at Twynham School to help the environment.

We have also placed solar panels above the science block so that we can make our own electricity for lights or hot water.

This relates to geography because we have been learning about the weather and climate and so we know the best place to plant the trees.
