WHEN the initial Canford Bottom road closures were announced there was no indication that access to the A31 westbound would be denied to Colehill residents, or, that travelling west you could not access Colehill or Wimborne.
This came as a surprise to everyone, including Wilts & Dorset who had to provide the Colehill version of the number 13 bus two weeks earlier than planned.
Now it seems that, although the local roads are open from Friday March 23 as planned, access between Ferndown and Wimborne will still not be possible without using a diversion or rat run in one direction or the other.
What will the bus do? The Highways Agency paid for six weeks of replacement bus, which is now up.
When will local residents be once again able to freely access their neighbouring community?
Silence seems to be the answer at present.
It is bad enough that the proper flyover scheme was cancelled by that dreadful man Prescott back in 1997; the inadequate replacement is still not being articulated properly to us.
