I REFER to recent articles about flower thefts at Corfe Mullen cemetery.
Flowers have been going missing, roses in particular.
I, too, have suffered from this upsetting act.
After checking the beautiful floral tributes left on my husband’s grave I discovered all the roses had gone leaving just level stems.
I know who the culprits are – not human thieves but, as anyone who knows the cemetery which is by lots of open fields knows, it is the local deer who are very partial to roses.
They are only doing what is natural for them even though it did make me very sad at first.
I now only put roses there under wire and all is well.
