WE wonder if on our behalf you would enlist the help of your readers.
We are putting together a history and guide of our church building in Millhams Street, Christchurch.
Up until 1998 the building was owned and used by the United Reformed Church.
In November 1998 we moved in. Since then we have been carrying out major works to the building as it was in desperate need of restoration.
I am pleased to say the majority of the restoration is complete.
Our research so far has revealed that for many years, the church in Millhams Street has made a significant contribution to parts of the town.
For a long time the former Congregational Church provided a school and there was a very strong congregation with the active Boys Brigade.
What we need please, is help from any of the readers who may be able to provide information, photographs or literature, that will help us put together a historical record of what the church has contributed to Christchurch over the years.
We are planning to prepare a guide book, which will include your readers’ reminiscences and photographs.
REVEREND RALPH WINTER-SMITH, Millhams Street, Christchurch
