I HAVE been buying the Daily Echo near enough every day for over 30 years and I am disgusted at the way the Daily Echo has treated Eddie Mitchell and the football club.

Eddie has been provoked by the Daily Echo, other media and those so-called supporters who seem to get angry if the football players are not winning.

The provocation seems to be intentional to make him react.

He cares for the club and must feel at the end of his tether with the insults from the Daily Echo and others.

The club exists due to the finances and the loyal support of Eddie and his family and business acquaintances.

The club would not exist if it was not for him and we would not be in Division One.

Now is not the time for negative talk, but we must allow our team to bond and our club to flourish without provoking those who have rescued us and we should be doing all that we can to show our appreciation.

For example, going to the matches, using the cafe, restaurant and the shop, buying a brick and supporting the fundraising.

Has the club been asked to appoint someone in the club to write a piece each week in the Daily Echo instead of the Daily Echo reporters who just seem to care about their stories and provoking a reaction?
