TEN year old Libby Dawn Willis of Poole sent this open letter to Eddie Mitchell (and Lee Bradbury, prior to his leaving AFC Bournemouth):

Dear Eddie Mitchell, I am writing to you to inform you that I am extremely mad by your decisions.

Stopping children from reading is what you have done. When the report comes out about a match, every supporter is dying to read it.

As I am a pupil, I am expected to read more than twice a week, so banning the Echo reports is a frustrating matter.

Think! You are stopping children reading, which is not good. You are also being held responsible for children receiving a discipline.

I am also disappointed with Lee Bradbury, calling our players immature. That’s the reason why the reporters felt the need to express it to the world.

It can be tense when you are on the spot, but immature is harsh. How do you think the players feel? Eddie Mitchell, you have done many bad things too, so change.

Understandably you do not want reporters surrounding you 24/7, but that is what happens when you become in charge of a football team.

Many memories have been in the hands of the Daily Echo – now they have vanished. I wish for a written apology with my thoughts taken into consideration.

MISS LIBBY DAWN WILLIS, Age 10, Poole
