ABOUT two weeks ago I walked to Avon Beach, Mudeford with my wife, daughter and our two-year-old granddaughter.
It was a fine day, we took a picnic and sat by the beach.
As we enjoyed our lunch time break, along came a beautiful golden retriever and promptly ate the sandwich held by the two-year-old, quickly devoured all else, spilled my cup of hot soup which scalded my hand, and generally caused mayhem.
Yesterday my daughter and granddaughter went to Avon Beach with friends.
The same thing happened this time with two large mongrel dogs. On both occasions the owners were nearby, but had no control over their pets.
Please may I appeal to all dog owners to be responsible and keep dogs on a lead. If in doubt put a muzzle on the dog, it may save someone from serious injury.
