THE glorious weather of the past few days has again been spoilt by people lighting bonfires that spoil the lovely evenings and daytime when washing is being dried on lines.
Is it reasonable to assume that this will be the case in the future, as folks will be avoiding paying the green bin charge and will be too lazy to take it to the tip?
There is also a safety aspect as has been shown by the fire in Bournemouth where four gardens went up in flames.
There are still bylaws with regard to lighting bonfires and environmental officers do visit homes that light bonfires.
