Will Poole People be binned at polls FIRST Poole Council gave us all a black wheelie bin; ‘put all your rubbish in this’, they said, Next they gave us a blue wheelie bin; ‘separate your rubbish and put the recycling stuff in this’, they said.
Then they gave us a green wheelie bin; ‘put all your garden waste in this’, they said. We can turn it into compost.
Then we had a local election and up popped the Poole People’s Party candidates; ‘vote for us they said’, and many of us did. So in they came as new councillors.
And we all thought, that’d show the main political parties, when, low and behold, they held the balance of power when it came to voting through the decision to charge residents for the use of the green bins.
Now we have to pay if we want to use a green bin; what next, pay for the blue bin? Then the black bin?
One wonders what will happen to the Poole People’s Party candidates when they next come up for election? Will they receive the “dusty bin”?
