I REALISE that cycling on the prom is a highly contentious issue. I’ve no wish to go into the rights or wrongs, but would like to point out an inconsistency. It has been banned in July and August between 10am and 6pm on the grounds of safety, yet it remains permitted at weekends and Bank Holidays in May, June and September, when the prom can often be busier than a weekday in July or August.
Surely if it is considered unsafe in July and August then the ban should be extended to busy weekends and Bank Holidays in May, June and September.
