I AM pleased that former Burley boy Cllr John Beesley answered my published letter regarding the former Imax building (April 7).
May I enquire of the tens of thousands of Bournemouth taxpaying residents, how many asked for the council to waste millions of their pounds buying back the leases, to then market the site wanting any purchaser at their expense reduce the size of the building?
Or to now fork out another £2million or so to simply demolish the Waterfront complex to leave an empty space and no income?
Also, whose view is blocked apart from the Trevor Osborne scheme next to the Pavilion?
The council could spend that £2m converting the building into a Bournemouth Baths, which was the original use, with plenty of shallow sections for toddlers etc. similar to the Pyramid Centre at Southsea.
Or perhaps allow a low budget hotel?
