Despite the many disparaging remarks about the proposed gates for Kings Park, I personally can see further than pieces of metal bike frames and four hinges on posts.
They are indeed a beautiful and very clever design reflecting this UK milestone Olympic and Diamond Jubilee year.
A work of sheer genius, the gates clearly depict a London street map and the two relevant 2012 landmarks.
The significant diamond shape to the left being at Buckingham Palace, then clearing showing main roads, the A10, A11 and A12, whilst moving East to the Olympic rings on the opposite gate.
Let us embrace its full historic meaning and celebrate a Great British design that will be a lasting legacy, attracting much local interest.
