A few minutes from here is Bernards Mead, a lovely walk which I take quite often.
Sometimes I am the only person and at others there are dog walkers.
Occasionally I pick up a can, bottle or wrapping and place it in the bin by the river.
Returning along Barrack Road is another matter with its weeds, grass and various litter.
A couple of weeks ago I saw four lots of cardboard. They had obviously been thrown over the railings across from the Old Bridge. I was very pleased to see that they had gone when on a further walk.
It is true that disposal of cardboard is a bit of a problem, it is so easy to collect. There are bins for it on the left towards the entrance to Druit Hall but it has to be carried there.
