THE government, it seems, is hell bent on installing renewable energies in the form of towers so tall they will stand above our summer coastal sea fogs in the middle of our heritage coastline and will permanently alter the landscape for generations to come.
Since, we are told, to build these devices is to help save the human race from the dire consequences of flooding, droughts, hurricanes, extreme snow falls, mass extinction of species, disastrous tidal rise and the terrible and unthinkable effects of disastrous climate change that will follow if we don’t, there is a better way forwards for funding.
Calculations show that once around 1,250,000 of these devices are installed in the UK we will be permanently rid of all filthy, dirty, fossil fuels, fossil cars, can halt disastrous climate change and raise ourselves from a pending third world status.
Without them charities such as the RSPB and Natural England and all the others would be worthless and defunct since their benefactors would, we are told, be themselves well on the way to extinction.
The solution for the funding of these beneficent towers is to declare these devices to be of a charitable nature and overnight the funding for them would appear at no cost to the existing taxpayer and no additional cost to the energy consumer as the current millionaires and any others who escape the present taxation system would have a more worthwhile conveyance into which they could transfer their excess, untaxed cash.
They would all be hailed as philanthropists overnight and savours of mankind.
