I WITNESSED quite a pretty picture today, though only momentary.

I was in my car driving around Southbourne Grove and near the small park that I believe leads to the cliff top. I have never walked it myself.

I saw an elderly couple there, both walking with aids, that wanted to cross from the grass over the narrow pathway. Yet a pigeon was going along that same route in front of them. These people just stopped and waited for the pigeon to fully pass by – like waiting for the traffic to clear until it is safe to go. It was surely amazing to watch.

Most times, people would just ignore the bird and carry on making them franticly fly away, but these folk did not do that. It kind of told me something.

Maybe it came with them living for so long that they got to learn respect for all living things – they put the pigeon way before themselves. After all, it did have the right of way!

Many people today do not hold that same respect, not even for humans let alone lower contrived species.

I am so glad I witnessed that short moment as it has taught me so much.

We can learn a lot from our elderly.
